Women's Empowerment Conference

Join us from May 24 – 27 at our week-long virtual conference that will address the challenges women face in the field of Entrepreneurship, Finance, and STEM. During this conference we will be bringing in experienced women in each of these fields to provide you with tools, resources and advice on how to take action when experiencing or witnessing inequalities and lack of empowerment that female -identifying individuals may or have faced in the workplace.


Saint Mary’s University Entrepreneurship Centre (SMUEC) invites SSB faculty members to participate in the Faculty-In-Residence program. As part of the RBC Talent Hub program, the primary objective of the Faculty-In-Residence is to mobilize the business expertise that exists within the Sobey School to help budding entrepreneurs improve their operations, strategies, and services.


After 31 days of competition featuring top student entrepreneurship talent from across Canada, one person has climbed to the top of the bracket as the winner of this year’s 2022 Saint Mary’s University March Madness Competition.

RBC Talent Hub

Through co-operative education and internship placements, training, Entrepreneurial Mindset Success Certificate, and an Entrepreneur-in-Residence program, the RBC Talent Hub is an answer to our students’ requests for additional hands-on learning opportunities. The skills developed through this program aim to give students a leg up in the job hunt and help them to excel in the workplace post-graduation.

Study and Stay Entrepreneurship Program is a partnership between EduNova Cooperative Ltd., and Post-Secondary Institutions from across Nova Scotia. The program supports international student entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia through networking, skill development, and resource sharing, to further the success of our growing economy.

Digitization Program

SMUEC has partnered with Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) to modernize digital assets for cutting edge Atlantic Canadian companies to help the region thrive in a virtual ecosystem.

ACOA’s support means we can offer projects subsidized at 75% of the total project cost up to a maximum project value of $5,000 for companies operating in certain sectors. Some restrictions apply so please contact us to learn more

The Spark Zone Ignition Program

The Ignition program is a 10-week program that provides students with access to training, resources, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and opportunities to engage with mentors already in the industry. This includes:

  • Mentorship
  • Roundtables
  • Seminars &. Workshops
  • $20 per session attended
  • Creating connections
  • Building business ideas


March Madness Pitch Competition

The competition showcases post-secondary student pitchers throughout the month of March. Modelled after the NCAA March Madness basketball competition, 64 student entrepreneurs from across Canada will be selected to compete head-to-head in brackets as they strive to eventually be declared the best in the country
