Event Details

“My name is René Boudreau and I am a member of the African Nova Scotian community. I am originally from Truro and I currently reside in East Preston. In 2015, I graduated from Dalhousie University with my undergraduate degree in Sociology and I’ve been working in community organizations ever since. Currently, I work with the Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW) as the African Nova Scotian Community Engagement Coordinator. Through this work, I lead the Creating Communities of Care project that focuses on Gender-Based Violence within our African Nova Scotian communities. Aside from my work with ABSW, I am the founder of Elevate & Explore Black Nova Scotia, a travel community and business aimed at encouraging more Black travellers to visit Nova Scotia, and to inspire people from all backgrounds to explore our beautiful province. I enjoy spending time with loved ones, travelling and creating new experiences. ”
