The competition began on March 1, when 15 students participated in the opening round of the competition, the ProtoHack, which challenged them to ideate new products that would serve as a customer experience solution for retailers. Over the past month, students have been working in teams to build on their ideas, conduct market research, and prototype their products. During the Final Pitch, all five teams pitched their product ideas to a panel of judges including guest judge Mark Innes, COO of Macquarries Pharmasave and a live audience. Three teams were awarded seed funding to put towards the development of their ideas.
First place: Walter Forero and Maria Gomez, Shop Guide
Second place: Zhenni Gi, iLokol
Third place: Jon Nguyen, Gum Shoes
Congratulations to all of the students that participated in the competition!
