Rethink, React, Remodel

The Circular Economy Challenge

The Circular Economy Challenge was created to empower postsecondary students to design and submit an idea to create a closed economy within their institution. Students will participate in design thinking programing & training sessions, develop a solution and present their idea to receive support to go towards implementing the solution.

What is a Circular Economy?
Products and services created with global issues like climate change, waste and pollution in mind, circular economies utilize sharing, reusing, repurpose and recycling in their models, maximizing the potential of existing materials.

%

of global energy consumption and energy-related CO2 emissions is from the use of buildings

%

of consumer goods waste is burned or landfilled because of poor design and/or lack of end-of-life collection options

%

of municipal waste solids is comprised of discarded consumer goods
